Why do I like December 21st, the first day of winter? Because from now until June 21st the days keep getting longer. Spring is right around the corner - on its way - almost here.
To whomever deigns to read my comment: When you live in Utah: 'DON'T KID YOURSELF'! (We had snow all the way to June 24th last year! The winter here never ends!!!!!!!

ummmm it doesn't really feel like it . . . We still have the lag of cold temperatures to get through. come back to me in 3 or 4 months... =)
12/21 is also a palindrome!
Fun Fact! This year the winter solstice (shortest day of the year) falls on Dec. 22
