Dad's Trip

So I just talked to Dad on the phone because it's been a while and I wasn't sure what his plans were for next week. Maybe you all are clear on everything but I thought I'd post his tentative plans for now and if you need to change something we can work it all out here. Sound good?

Okay, so he'll be arriving around noon on Sunday. He's thinking of visiting Doug in the hospital (if he's up for it) and then maybe spending the rest of the day at Nikki's. His hotel is down here by Novell, just so you know. Monday he has planned to see Breanne in the morning and then head to Jacque's. He's not sure if they want to go do something with him or just hang out at home or what? Tuesday I've invited him to come see Austin's swim lessons ('cause they're hillarious) and spend the afternoon, evening with us too (we've got a lot going on and he gets to be a bird on my shoulder). Adam, you're invited for dinner that night if you'd like. It will probably be at 6. Dad still has Wed. pretty much free. He has some check in for his symposium and other things he can do but he's really flexible. He'll be in workshops Thursday through Saturday morning but would love to get together with as many of us as are able Saturday afternoon. I would love to invite everyone here for a get together/BBQ. Maybe Nikki could bring Erika's kids down? Or if someone else would be more comfortable having it at their place that's fine with me.

So, let's have some feedback...

Adam- Happy Earth Day..I Mean BIRTHDAY!

The day Adam was born was a very special day... so special in fact, they decided to officially make it Earth Day! And Mom likes to point out that 'Adam' means 'of the Earth'! What a sweet coincidence! Happy 'BIRTH'day Adam!

Danger in Huadu Furong

In a recent email I recieved, I found these pictures with an article saying that every year a few people were drowning or mysteriously disappearing in Huadu's Furong Reservoir. When the son of a government official recently went swimming and suddently drowned they discovered this 9.8 ft long, man-eating catfish whose head alone is 1 meter (3.3 ft) wide!

Swimming in the reservoir is now forbidden because they found remains of another man inside, and it is feared another similar man-eating catfish is still lurking in the waters. Can you say "Creepy!"

a day in the life

Just in case anyone needs to feel better about their life today... I woke up super tired today, and tried going back to sleep after Will left for school, but the baby was super fussy and finally woke up 10 minutes after I laid down. After I changed him (he pees all over his clothes at nearly every changing, this one included) I laid him in the bassinet and turned on the vibration and laid down, completely ignoring his angry cries. 10 minutes later, Alex woke up. I changed him and took him downstairs and tried to go back to sleep. Ella came up 20 minutes later to say that Alex had crawled up on the kitchen table and into the baby bouncer. I found him laying horizontally across the bouncer with his feet suspended in the air. I carried the bouncer to my room and laid down again. About 30 minutes later (I actually got some sleep!) I hear the toilet flushing over and over again. Found Alex standing over the toilet which was crammed full of baby wipes and bath toys. I had to pull these out of the toilet, and wash the floor and bathmat (washed that yesterday). Then, I came downstairs to see Ella neatly folding the entire box of baby wipes, which he had completely ravaged. I told her next time she should tell me when he empties the baby wipes (and we can hopefully avoid the whole toilet thing.)

A few short hours later, Ian needs a diaper change right when Ella's friend comes over to play and Alex has snuck into the backyard to play in all the fun rain puddles. I tell the girls to go to the friends' house, change the baby, try to get clean clothes for Alex, but find the closet has turned into a massive fort with blankets sticking out and the closet door is stuck. I get the clothes and lay the baby in the swing where he begins crying madly. I get Alex changed, start a movie for him, and then hear the girls exclaim that the dog has run out the front door and down the street. I try for 5 minutes to call back the dog and the girls finally leave. Did I mention the baby's been crying this whole time? When I finally come back inside, the baby is out, dog goes in her kennel, Alex is watching tv. Time for lunch.

Well, I didn't cry...

and no-one walked out...so I suppose that my first week playing the organ was a success.

Happy Birthday Bre Bre!

Brent will kill me when he sees this! But its worth the risk! He thought he was funny taking his own photo on Keala's birthday. But now its your birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
...As soon as Brent saw this post last night (he laughed first, of course) and then said for me to get his big head off the front page of our family blog. So, here's to doing him a favor (and to dad) You know dad, you really need to learn how to "EDIT"! Lol
