These are my latest 18" x 18" paintings. Hope the curator likes them when she comes for a studio visit Saturday afternoon. They are lots of fun and can be rotated and rearranged in every which way.
Don looks forward to the Gilroy Girl Photo Fest . . . he hasn't heard about it yet :=)

Is this your 'primary colors' phase?? Very cool.
Yes. Very cute... Guess that makes me about 5!
Hmmm, I can see how easy it is to say things that can be either misleading (eg. rumors) or misunderstood (as possibly in my last comment). Just so there's no ambiguity - I liked what you said Erika...especially the "very cool" part. I started with the red canvas on impulse. Then it was ever so tempting to do the primaries plus white.Do kids go through a primary colors phase? Were you ribbing me a little?
I think they're cool! Are you working on other pieces at the same time too?
Right now I'm just working on little pieces. They are a series of studies and explorations of my new direction. 90% of the show will be old work from 2008. I only need 4 of small canvases to fill the space available for new work. I will continue to explore small canvases for awhile and possibly try some 30" x 30" canvases.
I wasn't really ribbing you. You did so many pictures exploring the ocean and light, this seems like such a totally different direction. But it's fun to call it a primary colors phase. I don't think my kids went through a time where they liked primary colors (the girls always stuff with pink and jack with blue). But Adam has teased me often about my house being yellow and blue, he says I need a bright red couch!
